In September, Sephora announced an exciting collaboration and revealed the Disney Cinderella Collection by Sephora. Finally I was able to see the whole collection up close and personal during one of my many spontaneous (and dangerous!) trips to Sephora and I have to say its beautifully designed with a whimsical nature that truly captures Disney.
Having said that and coupled with the fact that I’ve been watching the tv show Once Upon a Time (yes I’m hooked!) I was inspired to modernize the leading ladies of Disney’s fashion sense. Check out what I came up with and let me know what you think!

Love jewellery? I’m right there with you, my mum has always called me a magpie because I’m attracted to shiny objects, so its of no surprise to her that I love glitzy, glamourous jewellery. Its important to keep these precious pieces organized and minimizing the risk of misplacing them, below are (perhaps) some unconventional methods for storing your jewellery collection.
Using a decorative, ornate picture frame as an earring display is a unique and artistic way to showcase your collection. I personally see Jewellery as a work or art so why not display them in that manner? Not to mention it creates an easy way to remember what you actually own.
Check out this fabulous DIY guide on how to transform a picture frame into a jewellery display OR if DIY isn’t really your thing there are plenty of organizer frames on etsy such as the one above that you can find here.
This is ideal for bracelets, rings and delicate earrings. Dedicate each tier to a specific type of accessory in order to stay extra organized as well as creating a fabulously alluring table top organizer.
Paper towel holders
Allison over at The Adventures of VAMH had a simple yet fantastic solution to organizing her bracelets. Visit your local target or Tjmaxx for a paper towel holder and repurpose it as a chic way of displaying your bracelets.
Cheap and cheerful as well as a way to keep your collection organized! Worried that you can see exactly what it is? Not to worry if you build yourself a sizable collection, soon enough you’ll have enough of them to disguise the paper towel holder.
I’m always spotting beautiful unique plates at stores like tjmaxx, ones that often times are just too beautiful to eat off of. Instead you can use it as a stylish way to display your most worn pieces.
Recently I picked up a stunning plate from tjmaxx for only $7! It now sits pretty on my vanity table holding all my beauty products that I use most often. Its a great way to keep things grouped and it also jazzes up any surface.
They range from elegant to quirky, use this to your advantage to not only spruce up your table top but also repurpose it as a jewellery holder. Its an inexpensive method to keeping your jewellery organized as well as the fact that its a great space saver!
Recently I’ve noticed that Urban Outfitters have some great storage displays that are perfect for keeping your jewellery organized, below are a few that caught my eye.
If there is one thing I love, it is to smell good so needless to say I’m a huge fan of perfumes and own a rather decent fragrance collection, however it can always get bigger and there are a few on my wishlist at the moment
Check out some of the upcoming fragrances being released later this year as well as my current top 5 fragrances that I currently own (this was extremely difficult to narrow down may I add). The question is what are your favorite fragrances?
UPCOMING 2012 SCENTS
Madonna will launch Truth or Dare by Madonna, her debut fragrance, in March under arrangements with Coty. The fragrance is associated with her upcoming Truth or Dare lifestyle brand, and will be geared at women 25-45.
I have always been obsessed by fragrance and for years wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me, but that other people could relate to as well. Something classical and timeless and yet modern. My oldest memory of my mother is her perfume. I carry it with me everywhere. She always smelled like gardenias and tuberose, an intoxicating mixture [that was] feminine and mysterious. I wanted to re-create this scent, but with something fresh and new about it as well.
Described as a “white floral with a signature gourmand underneath”; notes include gardenia, tuberose, neroli, jasmine, benzoin, lily, vanilla, caramelized amber and musk.
Madonna Truth or Dare will be available in 30, 50 or 75 ml Eau de Parfum ($39-68) and in matching body products. It will be exclusive to Macy’s on launch.
Nine West is contributing to the fragrance industry with its own scent titled Love Fury. The scent features:
Rose Bud FirNat as top notes, mimosa petals absolute, juicy mandarin and red berries pulp, heart notes of Tiare Tahiti NaturePrint, Jasmine Samback FirAbs, sandalwood and base of orris flower, sensual musk, precious wood and amber.
The fragrance will be accompanied by the launch of a new exclusive Love Fury-branded pump and is said to be available in mid-January.
Aura by Swarovski Collection Mariage is a limited collection inspired by the glitter and happiness of weddings. The Collection Mariage features packaging that is set with crystal and adorned with a floral patterned lace veil.
The Light Eau de Toilette is composed around three accords, described variously as The Loving Commitment, The Promise of an Eternal Bond and Intense Love. The first features lychee, a key component of the original Aura fragrance, complemented by tea leaves. The second includes peony and lotus; the third white musk.
The fragrance will be available from April in the European and Middle Eastern market, and will roll out in Asia in May.
MY CURRENT TOP 5
Today is my last post before I head to Germany for the holidays, I will attempt to update while there and share some of my adventures however meanwhile on to the next post:
Okay so is it just me or is there a current “Owl Obsession” trend going on lately? Seems whenever I go window shopping or browse stores online the cute little things keep popping up! Overall I think owls are beautiful creatures, they have unique proportions and are absolutely adorable especially during their infant stage! (lets face it most animals are cute, fluffy and cuddly when they are that young Take a quick look at the video below to see my point.
In order to further prove my suspicions of the owl mania we are living in, I figured I’d select some items I thought were unique and share! Hope you enjoy my selections!

Color Blocking is the combination of different solid colors that compliment one another to culminate in a dynamically chic ensemble. Are you brave enough to try it? Kate Winslet was and although color blocking is typically associated with the use of bold, vibrant colors the curvy actress stepped out in a more subtle toned (black, white & gray) figure hugging dress earlier this year when attending the red carpet for the Venice Film Festival.
Kate Winslet wearing Stella McCartney’s Octavia Dress priced at $1,600, on the red carpet at the 68th Venice Film Festival at Palazzo del Cinema on September 2, 2011 in Venice, Italy.
The Oscar winning actress looked absolutely stunning as she flaunted her curvy figure in a color blocked dress by Stella McCartney. The optical illusion dress was created with strategically placed black panels that transformed Kate’s figure into an hourglass proportion and gave the illusion of a slim, sleek physique.
Below are some tips on how to get your color block trend on as well as some affordable options that are guaranteed to flatter your figure whether you are wearing a dress, separates or want to add some flair to your outfit with some killer heels! I hope you enjoy the selections!
Subtle Yet High Contrasting
Too many bright colors together not your thing? That’s ok! I’ve got you covered, nothing says drama than the classic pairing of Black & White or the mixture of Nude & Black to offer a high contrasting statement. Combine your dress or separates with a sleek black/nude pair of heels to keep it simple, sophisticated and most importantly stylish.
Team up colors from the same family – think bright red with fuchsia or deep reds for a fiery statement, as well royal blue with turqoise. Combining these colors with black can also add more drama to your outfit.
With some bright, vivid combinations such as purple and orange or with a hint of yellow or lime green.

On my way home from work yesterday as I was walking past the Sheraton Hotel, I noticed the festive Christmas lights that embellished the bushes outside the hotel. The first thing that resonated with me was how much it looked like glitter! Now typically I am not a fan of glitter in my wardrobe or beauty products, I’ve always been irritated with how it sticks to you and takes days for it to go away… however there are times where one can make an exception, in order to “jazz up” an outfit or feel a little more glam. Below are the photos I took my inspiration from as well as a mixture of beauty products and clothing that I thought didn’t scream glitter but has a subtle yet similar aesthetic.
4. Ted Baker Metallic Mini Skirt – $126 *Sale*
“I’m singing in the rain…” ok so I’m sure we’ve all heard this song and I for one have always wondered why would anyone be that happy when its pouring out? I absolutely love summer so I dedicated today’s post to help shed some light on a fun way of bringing some sunshine to your day even when its cold, dreary and just terrible out.
The answer is to add a colorful, fun or maybe quirky umbrella to your repertoire, these umbrellas are rather fantastic and are sure to put you in a better mood. I recently found a great umbrella, not only is it automatic but its also colorful and believe it or not it does make a difference. Check out some I found online and snag yours now before the winter really sets in or maybe give it to someone for a Christmas gift.
Who wouldn’t want to be surrounded by Chihuly’s glass masterpieces, or look up to see white fluffy clouds?
