Zoya Nail Polish: Natty Review & Swatches

ZoyaNatty01

Zoya Nail Polish in Natty ($8.00 for 15ml) is described as a “smoky deep steel blue with an opaque cream finish,” and is part of the Designer Fall Collection.

Natty is a gorgeous colour and is unexpectedly versatile at that, with its smoky semi gloss finish, Natty is a sophisticated blue with attitude. The formula has a medium consistency and needs two coats to reach fully opacity which is typical with most nail polishes. Regarding Longevity, all of Zoya’s Nail Polishes last at least a week with minimal wear and no chipping and just minor tip wear for me.

Definitely great for the fall and those winter months!

Zoya Nail Polish: Aurora Review & Swatches

ZoyaAurora02

Zoya Nail Polish in Aurora ($8.00 for 15ml) is described as a “medium sugarplum purple flecked with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter.” As part of the Ornate Collection, Aurora stands out as a stunner and packs quite a punch!

The deep purple base stands as a wonderful backdrop to the rainbow concentrated flow of holographic glitter that is truly . The formula itself applies easily and the glitter flecks are evenly dispersed, it also reaches full opacity in just two coats and is fast drying. Regarding Longevity, all of Zoya’s Nail Polishes last at least a week with minimal wear and no chipping and just minor tip wear for me.

Overall Aurora is mesmerizing and is easily one of my favourite nail polishes of all time!

Adornation’s 2012 Year in Review!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 11,000 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 18 years to get that many views.

CND Solar Oil Nail & Cuticle Conditioner Review

CND01

CND Solar Oil ($4.25 for 7.3ml) is considered a manicure in a bottle with its natural blend of oils such as Jojoba, Almond Oil and Vitamin E. The formula has been developed to deeply penetrate your skin and nails in order to promote healthy, strong looking natural nails. The consistency and formula feels light and upon applying, absorbs quickly into your nails without leaving a greasy or oily residue.

With its simple application, you basically apply it as you would any nail polish by dabbing a small amount of oil on each finger nail and rubbing it into the cuticle and nail. One of the main reasons I love this product is because not only does it help maintain healthy nails but it smells absolutely divine! If you love the smell of almond then you’ll love this! It is extremely hydrating and is great to add to your nail routine.

I’ve been using this for years and a small bottle goes a long way! The bottle I reviewed is the 7.3ml version (which is ideal for traveling), but they do come in various sizes (7.3ml, 15ml, 68ml and 118ml ) all at very reasonable prices.

Zoya Nail Polish: Storm Review & Swatches

Zoya-storm-01

Zoya Nail Polish in Storm ($8.00 for 15ml) is described as a “full coverage, holiday black with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter.” As part of the Ornate Collection, Storm is another show stopper with its black base and scattered holographic shimmer.

The colour is rich and the consistency of the formula is fantastic and reaches full opacity with just two coats, the shimmer gets evenly dispersed when applied and is reminiscent of the starry night sky! In terms of longevity, I haven’t had this on long enough to say but typically with Zoya Nail Polish I get at least a week’s worth of wear with no chipping and just minor tip wear.

Overall Storm is a gorgeous colour with a wonderful fast drying formula that makes me feel as though I have the galaxy at my finger tips!

Available @ Zoya for $8.00

Emerald Revealed as Pantone’s Colour Of The Year 2013

As 2012 draws to a close, Pantone is already giving us fashionistas something to look forward to as they announce Emerald, a vibrant lush green as Colour of the Year for 2013.pantone

The authority on all things colour related has characterised Emerald as a hue that symbolises “a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world.”

emeraldpantone

Following in the footsteps of last year’s spirited and energetic Tangerine Tango, Emerald is typically deemed as a “sophisticated and luxurious” colour and often strongly associated with precious gemstones, growth and prosperity, which leads me to believe that many of us will enjoy the journey through Emerald City this upcoming year.

In addition to this announcement, Pantone has once again collaborated with beauty powerhouse, Sephora to create the SEPHORA + PANTONE UNIVERSE™ 2013 Color of the Year beauty collection featuring PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald, which will be available exclusively at Sephora in March 2013. The limited edition collection is set to feature eye shadows, nail polish and accessories and I for one can’t wait to see what they come up with!
